A Simplified Korean At-Home Meal
* * *
by Nanny 2
Unlike yesterday's soupless setup (see 3.119 A Soupless Korean At-Home Meal), this meal contained all the requisite elements--namely, rice and soup, a main, and a side--but lacked in the number of total dishes. Ideally, perhaps even typically, an at-home meal would consist of more banchan (반찬) (side dish) (see generally 2.237 Return of the Typical Korean At-Home Meal).
Clockwise from bottom right: steamed rice, muu guk (무우국), pan-fried imyeonsu (이면수), cucumbers in gochujang (고추장).
