Try Every Restaurant in Robinsons Place (TERRP), Phase 3.

In Manila since January, here through October under the current contract, living above Robinsons Place, I've been eating my way through the mall.  As far as I know, nobody has ever done anything like this, my unique contribution to the city's food/blog scene.  I did all the restaurants on the 1st floor (currently 36, down from the initial 40) and the 2nd floor (currently 7, down from the initial 14).  Now, I'm on to the restaurants on the 3rd floor (currently 28, 2 of which were already covered during Phase 1).  Then, once Phase 3 is complete, time permitting, the 4th floor.  Henceforth, however, I'll take them as they come, no more pushing the agenda; if I don't finish, oh well.

This is the 55th in the series, the 12th on the 3rd floor.  Padre Faure Wing.

All restaurants on the 1st floor:

- 39(1.36) Apr 2 / Cabalen (Filipino) (see 5.087 Buffet Scraps) / 1.5 / $$

Mongolian Quick-Stop is a Mongolian-style restaurant chain.  Founded in the Philippines.  Currently with 3 locations in Metro Manila.  The house specialty is the so-called* "Mongolian" stir-fry, allowing diners to choose from a variety of ingredients, including veggies, rice/noodles, meat/chicken, and sauces, all tossed together and served in a bowl.

At 155 pesos, the Mongolan Bowl represents a pretty decent value for so much fresh veg, a rarity in Manila.

*From what I've heard and seen, Mongolian cuisine would seem to consist primarily of simple grilled meats, potato dishes, and/or meat/potato dumplings (see for example 3.315 Khuushuur).  I strongly suspect that this hodgepodge mixing of many ingredients--particularly vegetables, which can't really even grow in the country because it's so cold there--is a foreign construct that would make Mongolians themselves scratch their heads.

For the basic "bowl" option, the customer may pack as many veggies, tofu, noodles, and rice into the bowl as possible...

...along with 1/4 cup of any 1 meat/seafood...

...plus any sauces.

The food was whatever, about as good/bad as a bowl of stir-fried veg could be.
