TEITY.  Try Every Item at Tao Yuan* (see previously 5.305 Braised Fish Maw with Sea Cucumber).  Attempting to eat my way through the restaurant, all 222 items (excluding shark's fin and desserts).  From what I've seen so far, it would seem to be one of the best in the neighborhood, solid on all counts: taste, quality, variety, service, vibe, proximity, maybe price.  Once I've tried everything, I'll know exactly what to get, depending on the circumstances, whether it's for a quick bite on my own, a casual night out with friends/colleagues/family, or a formal occasion hosting bosses/VIPs.  That kind of certainty, in the unpredictable culinary landscape of Manila, will be invaluable.

Something of a sequel to TERRP (Try Every Restaurant in Robinsons Place), which had me eating my way through an entire mall, all 85 restaurants (see generally 5.247 Original Recipe Fried Chicken...), much to my eternal regret and shame.

8 new dishes tonight, total 87 down, 135 remaining; 18 visits so far, averaging 4.83 items per visit, on pace to finish at TEITY 48.

Once again (see most recently 5.299 Tangho), the hotpot proved to be excellent.  Ingredients proved consistently to be top quality, making me wonder where they source the food.   The most interesting item was the Shrimp Ball Crab Roe: minced shrimp with a touch of crab roe in the center, wrapped in dried laver--pretty good in its blend of sweet + salty + minerally, more noteworthy for its novelty, the kind of thing to order when trying to wow the yokels.  Anyway, what a fine meal.

Tao Yuan Superior Soup in Pot (3.0) + Chinese Lettuce (2.5) + Chinese Tofu (2.5)

Meat Vegetable Dumpling (2.25)--okay, but the shrimp dumplings were much better.

Sliced Native Chicken (1/2) (3.0)--thought it might be a special variety of chicken, but no; in any case, very fresh.

Hofan (3.0)

Polonchay (3.25)--leafy green, virtually identical to spinach.

Noodle soup to wrap.
